These species rich hanging gardens are home to a diverse and luxuriant mix of dwarf shrubs, tall herbs, bryophtyes, sedges and grasses. This plant community is restricted to areas with calcareous bedrock and base rich soils. It is also found only in areas inacessible to grazing animals.

Minuartia sedoides and Saxifraga oppositifolia are two of the colourful plants found in this habitat.
