With the Fringe here August is one of the busiest months of the year at The Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh. With jammed packed events, I will be blogging and photographing highlights of the Festival as well as photographing my time here allowing you to peek behind-the-scenes and find out more about what goes on in the Garden. Me - blog

So now you know what I am aiming to achieve over the next month, you probably want to know who I am. Well, my name is Sarah Young and I am currently a volunteer in the marketing department. Over my summer I have been working with a brilliant team who have kindly given me this fantastic opportunity to help build my experience. As I am currently studying a BA in Marketing at Edinburgh Napier University, the experience and opportunities which I have been able to gain have been extremely beneficial! My main role is to work alongside my colleague with social media, however as I am also a keen photographer I have also had the chance to photograph some amazing plants and join in some photocalls, such as the Edinburgh Fringe 2013 and the BBC Landward (which was amazing!). I have even been lucky enough to have my images used in the newspapers!

So with lots going on, I have been given this ‘mini’ project to help share my experiences about life in the Garden, as it sometimes goes unknown about the type of work that we do here and the events that we hold.  You can even share your experiences and images of the Garden or an event you went too on our social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Flickr). Enjoy!
