Planted in the uppermost section of the Chinese hillside this evergreen Rhododendron bears multiple trusses of shocking white flowers. Considering the exposed situation it has established well, and now, almost 20 years from the sowing of seed is repaying the skilful cultivation of RBGE’s horticultural team. On a wet day the heavy scent continues to uplift the mood of passing visitors.  The six to eight flowers that comprise the truss are delicately marked with a pink blush. A native to SW China, Laos and Northern Vietnam.  Seed was collected at c. 2700 – 2800m from a plant growing within mixed evergreen and deciduous forest.
