We attended Gardening Scotland at the weekend and along with volunteers from the Scottish Allotments and Gardens Society met Jim McColl. As you can see we were pretty chuffed about this!
We met lots of lovely folk and the topic of the weekend was composting. From wormeries to hot boxes; all the growers had a preferred method but the consensus was that it is an essential part of growing veg, however you go about it. All soils are improved by digging in organic matter and the easiest and cheapest way to source this is to make your own.
There are all sorts of jobs to be getting on with at this time of year as detailed in our Summer handout. Click on the link to find out what to sow and plant out now!
