A homage to the best of all autumn colours can be seen in the Nursery. Fraxinus angustifolia ssp. angustifolia when seen with the late afternoon sun lighting up the intense yellow foliage is magnificent. Closer up the dark black growth buds contrast well with the foliage. The plant came to RBGE as F. numidica, later changed to F. angustifolia. ssp. angustifolia. It originated in Algeria, but with a geographical range from central and southern Europe to Turkey into NW Africa.
