There are lots of different primers that sit in slightly different parts of the ITS locus, some forward and some reverse. There’s a very well-worn printout stored on a shelf in the Scientific and Technical Services office, showing the locations of some of the most common ITS primers that we use at the Botanics (forward primers shown above the sequence text line, and reverse primers below). While it’s probably not going to win awards for the most beautiful diagram ever, it’s proven exceedingly handy over the years…
