A new monograph of Aframomum by David Harris and Alexandra Wortley , from Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh, was published at the beginning of 2018. The monograph includes the description of 12 new species of Aframomum to science.
Three of the newly described species were collected as living plants by David Harris during field work to south east Cameroon in 1998 and 1999. The plants are held in the Zingiberaceae Research Collection at Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh.
