Do you want to escape the cold and rain for some African warmth this weekend? You can join a walking storytelling promenade performance in the Glasshouses this Saturday or Sunday and meet some of the colourful characters from our history. You are warned this is not suitable for the faint hearted as John Hutton Balfour, Regius Keeper (1845 – 1879) and David Livingstone’s botanist and doctor John Kirk will be telling true adventure stories of slave trading, shipwrecks and poisoned arrows. African storytellers will be bringing the story up to date with songs and tales that provide a context to Livingstone’s Zambesi journeys and speak of the legacy his expedition has left within the lands that he explored. Arrive anytime between 11am and noon, or between 2pm to 3pm to enjoy the full show. You can get a brief taster of this unique experience on https://vimeo.com/77548759
