Agenus of herbs, these two differ in that Helleborusorientalis has no winter foliage and H.foetidus has. H. foetidus isnative to W and S Europe with H.orientalis having a wider distribution through southern Europe into SWAsia.  Both ready to flower giving subtlecolour and interest to the winter garden. Also look out for Helleborus niger the “Christmas Rose”.Sold in quantity at this time of year with many forms showing colour variationwhite through pink to purple.
