This is one of the richest areas of the Garden for wildlife. In the whole Garden, more than 460 animal species (mostly invertebrates such as insects and spiders) had been recorded by the end of 2012 and the number continues to grow almost daily as our wildlife recorder does his daily rounds. On 21 and 22 June 2013, a BioBlitz was held in the Garden during which 444 species of animal and wild plant were recorded.
