Centaurea cyanus at the RBGE

As the first Poppies (Papaver rhoeas) begin to flower in the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh’s World War One commemoration field we are currently being treated to a mass of cornflowers (Centaurea cyanus).

While the red Poppies are the recognised as the Commonwealth flower of rememberence, cornflowers or the bleuet de France are the French equivalent.
